Who is Hydro 21?

HYDRO 21 EUROPEAN CENTER FOR HYDROPOWER

Hydro 21, organizer of the Business Hydro show, is an association dedicated to federating the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region’s expertise in hydraulics and hydropower. The association brings together leading manufacturers, engineering companies, academic laboratories and training centers. In 2016, a new dynamic to open up to SMEs/SMIs was put in place through a partnership with the “Business Hydro” group.

The objectives pursued are as follows:

> Build a solid structure representing the region’s hydraulics industry

> Broaden the scope of Hydro 21’s activities by adding an economic/business dimension

> Keep abreast of market developments from a technical, economic and political standpoint.

> Improve relations between players in the hydropower sector and strengthen the fabric of SMEs in this market.

> Strengthen the representativeness of hydropower and lobbying actions.

One of Hydro 21’s objectives is also to contribute to the dissemination of scientific, technical and economic culture relating to energy. To this end, Hydro 21 organizes a number of meetings each year, including the Business Hydro show and the Focus Hydro symposium on small hydropower, usually held in November.

Steering Committee

Since 2016, when the 1st BUSINESS HYDRO show were launched, HYDRO 21 has set up a governance body called the “Business Hydro Steering Committee”, which meets every 2 months to arbitrate on the event’s strategic directions. The COPIL is made up of the following members:
