An innovation is only valuable when it reaches those who can help it flourish.
Every year, students, PhD candidates, start-ups and SMEs develop innovative solutions with the potential to transform the hydroelectric sector. However, many of these projects still lack sufficient visibility among key players in the sector : manufacturers, operators, investors and strategic partners.
It was to address this key challenge of visibility and acceleration that the Hydro Innovation Awards were created for the Salon Business Hydro.
In 2026, they return for a fourth edition with an even greater ambition : to provide innovations with the practical means to develop.

Beyond the awards themselves, the Hydro Innovation Awards are primarily aimed at creating real opportunities for development.

🎓 Students and PhD candidates : a cheque for €1,000 (including VAT) to support their research work and projects
🚀 Start-ups and businesses : an EXPERT PASS for strategic coaching (new for 2025) to support the development and structuring of the project
An awards ceremony at the heart of the Salon Business Hydro 2026
The winners will be announced and presented with their awards at the Business Hydro 2026 trade fair, during the Innovation Awards Ceremony on Tuesday 6 October at 7pm in Grenoble (Alpexpo).
This event is a highlight of the sector, bringing together the main players in the hydropower industry for 2.5 days of discussions, networking and business opportunities.
How do I apply?
Applications are open to all innovators with projects who are exhibiting or wish to be part of the Business Hydro trade fair.
The process is quick and easy :
