WHAT IS HYDRO 21?
HYDRO 21 EUROPEAN CENTRE FOR HYDROELECTRICITY
Hydro 21, organiser of the Hydro Business Meetings, is an association geared towards federating the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region’s hydraulic and hydroelectric capabilities. The association rallies primary industrial actors, engineering companies, academic labs and training centres. In 2016, a partnership with the “Business Hydro” group was implemented to create more opportunities for SMEs/SMIs.
Its goals are:
> Building a solid structure to represent the region’s hydraulic industry
> Broadening Hydro 21’s activities by adopting an economic/business-oriented scope of action
> Monitoring market evolutions from a technical, economic and political standpoint
> Improving relations between hydroelectric actors and intensifying the market’s SME framework
> Reinforcing hydroelectricity’s representativeness and its lobbying efforts
Hydro 21 also aims at developing outreach for the energy sector’s scientific, technical and economic culture. To this end, Hydro 21 organises various events each year, including Business Hydro and the Focus Hydro conference, which is generally held in November on the topic of small-scale hydroelectricity.
STEERING COMMITTEE
Since the 1st BUSINESS HYDRO Meetings were first held in 2016, HYDRO 21 has inaugurated a governance body called the “Business Hydro Steering Committee”, which meets every two months to determine the event’s strategic direction. This committee consists of the following actors:
