A media relations strategy has been in place for several years, with the aim of promoting the hydropower sector and the BUSINESS HYDRO trade fair to the media.

A press conference, supported by regular press releases throughout the year, took place on 23 June, at a time when the topic was very much in the news, at GE VERNOVA, our EDITION sponsor in Grenoble.

It brought together around a dozen journalists, both in person and online, from the local, regional and specialist press.

This press conference aims, on the one hand, to highlight the key issues surrounding hydropower and, on the other, to showcase the innovations at the Salon Business Hydro.

The year 2026 indeed marks a new chapter for French hydropower. On the one hand, the guidelines set out in the Third Multi-Annual Energy Programme (PPE 3) confirm the need for new hydropower generation capacity, whether through new run-of-river power stations, the retrofitting of existing structures or small-scale hydropower installations. Furthermore, the adoption on 17 June of the law on revitalising investment in the hydropower sector establishes a new regulatory framework, marking a major turning point for the hydropower sector. By creating an environment conducive to investment and the acceleration of new projects, it gives the 11th edition of the Business Hydro trade fair an unprecedented strategic dimension, placing it at the heart of the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow.

The entire consortium of companies represented by the members of the Hydro21 Executive Committee will be speaking at this press conference, namely : ARTELIA, CIC ORIO, CNR, EDF, General Electric and HYDROCOP.

This press conference will be followed by a “PRESS BRIEFING” during the inaugural tour to mark the opening of the BUSINESS HYDRO trade fair.
